Le Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal (SMAM) a pour mission d’interpréter les musiques vocales sacrées et profanes composées en Occident avant 1750, afin d’en partager toute la richesse, la beauté et la profondeur émotionnelle. Cofondé et longtemps dirigé par Christopher Jackson, et aujourd’hui par Andrew McAnerney, le SMAM est formé de douze à dix-huit chanteurs professionnels choisis pour la pureté et la clarté de leurs voix. Depuis presque 50 ans, le SMAM est guidé par un souci d’excellence et s’est taillé une place de choix dans le monde de la musique ancienne vocale au Canada.
