City Learning Centre HWDSB - ESL

City Learning Centre is located conveniently inside Jackson Square in downtown Hamilton. Newcomers to Canada who want to improve their English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing can attend government-funded classes at no cost. All teachers hold the Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT) designation by TESL Ontario. The curriculum follows the Canadian Language Benchmarks 1 to 8 along with Literacy and uses Portfolio-Based Language Assessment to show the progress of learners.
