Where to even begin... Worked there for 6 months and was literally treated like disposable piece of garbage and I don't mean that as a figure of speech that's literally how the owners daughter treats her employees and its absolutely disgusting she is allowed to treat humans this way. True story, I was t-boned one morning on the way to work and literally almost died and was extremely lucky to still be alive and no joke within 5 - 10 minutes after the accident she drove right by and didn't even stop to see if i was physically or mentally ok and drove right by and continued on her way to work. I called her 2 minutes after she past me in the intersection to tell her I wasn't going to be in and I had been in a very serious accident she didn't stop and come back to help or even make sure I was ok, she said I know I just drove past you and had to avoid your car in the intersection. The car was a write off and if anyone else was in the car with me they would have 100%been dead and that isn't even the worst part. When my probation review came up a month later she actually held that whole situation against me saying I missed a day of work and that it was unacceptable regardless the reason why. She also held the date of my mother in law passing away and the date of her funeral against me and also 2 other days I took off to drive my pregnant wife to the hospital for ultrasounds in the middle of winter. I was denied a raise because I missed those 5 days within the first 3 months and basically told I was on thin ice because of those missed days. Also I was told I wasn't allowed to partake in preparation parenting classes my wife wanted us to attend because they were quote on quote pointless and stupid and work is more important and because I was a service employee I had to be on call 24/7 so 2 hours once a week on Tuesday evenings wasn't a good enough reason to miss work if I was called in after already working 8 hours in the shop earlier in the day. Honestly besides all that dunnrite was actually not a bad place at all and the people there are actually really nice and enjoyable people to work with and its a shame the owner didn't have a compitant child that actually understood the belting industry to continue the legacy he built for 30+ years because dunnrite could have really been a industry leader with there second to non rollers and conveyor system accessories fully designed and manufactured in house but instead dunnrite has suffered the fate of being handed over to an absent minded ditzy blonde who doesn't understand how to run a service department by any means and if it wasn't for rite idler being the best rollers and frames the industry has to offer Hamiltons branch wouldn't even exist anymore because over the past 3 years they've slowly became a non existant forgotten service company losing all there big name accounts like Dofasco and sifto to the embarrassing competition like nuera and denardis. There's only one true work horse left in this area of Ontario that produce the quality this industry was built on and that's Rematech. Also dunnrite is the lowest paying company in the industry, so believe me if your really will to sacrifice your sanity, physical health and social life you may as well make it worth while and go to nuera or best of all belterra cause both companies have deep pockets so do yourself the favor and if your considering belting as a career make it worth your while and start with belterra. Or don't listen to the guy that's been to every company.... Twice.
